Who is Jesus?

Who is Jesus?    Jesus is the son of God, who tells us in the book of John that he is the one and only way to God.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me” (John 14:6).

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus is called the only Son of God as well as the Son of Man because he was born as a human baby, conceived through God’s Holy Spirit.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.”  (John 3:16)

Jesus came to heal the broken relationship between mankind and God. Jesus spoke God’s words and demonstrated God’s nature and power in many miracles of kindness and mercy. Though he briefly enjoyed great popularity, he was executed by crucifixion.  But death could not contain him.  Jesus spent a final 40 days with his followers, and was seen by over 500 people. Then, Jesus rose into heaven returning to God.

What does Jesus teach about life?

Jesus said “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)  Jesus taught people to love and honor God and all of humankind, to live in peace to the best of their ability, and to trust in God’s help.
