GIVE NOW

There are many ways to give at Grace.

Generosity Guide   Estate Legacy Giving Letter

Cash and personal checks are welcome, with envelopes provided in the pews or if you specifically request them from the church office.

Give online:
It is easy to set up your giving online. Fill in your basic information, donate to Grace Ministry Fund or "Other" (specify for what purpose in the notes section). Choose DONATE NOW and complete any other required information. You have the option to choose recurring donation and help us by paying the processing fee.

It is easy to set up online banking with your bank, using their online service for your GLC offerings. There is typically no cost to GLC for this service.

Text-to-Give is a new, easy to set up option!  Just add our GLC text-to-give number, 1.833.933.1803, to your phone, labeling it so you know what it is.  (For example, GIVE GLC).  After initial set-up:
1. Text GIVE to this number
2. Enter your information into the secure link you receive by text
3. Receive a confirmation text
4. Watch for the email receipt in the next 30 minutes with a link to manage your giving in MyAplos
Now that you’re set up and ready to go, any time there is an immediate need, it will be easy to text-to-give with GLC!

Other ways to give easily...
Do you shop at Fred Meyer?  Sign up with your Rewards Card and proceeds from your shopping go directly to GLC at fredmeyer.com/communityrewards.  Our non-profit number is 91892.

Don’t forget the United Way... Contributions of $30 or more can be part of your regular contributions.  Use GLC ID #13430.

Does your company offer a Matching Plan?
Many businesses will match your contribution dollar for dollar.  Check with your employer to see if you can double your giving.

There may be times in your life when you have the opportunity to make different types of gifts to Grace Lutheran Church.  Here are some other common ways to give:

Life Insurance
Your life insurance policy can be a gift to the church. The church would be named as the owner and beneficiary of your life insurance policy. The donor receives a charitable income tax deduction based on the lesser of the policy’s fair market value or the net premiums paid at the time of payout.

Securities
A gift of appreciated securities such as stocks or bonds can provide attractive benefits. An outright gift of long-term  appreciated securities (securities held for more than a year) avoids capital gains taxes and, in most cases, the donor may claim a charitable income tax deduction equal to the market value of the securities.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

For those over 70-1/2 on or after the date of the gift, you are able to make QCD’s by making a transfer directly from your IRA to a charity of your choice. This QCD counts towards satisfying any RMD requirement the IRA holder may have.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

DAF’s allow contributions to be immediately tax deductible, grow tax free in the fund, and can be disbursed to the charity of your choice at any time. For example, you could make a 3-year donation to a DAF, receive the tax deduction all in the current year, and distribute contributions to the charity over the next 3 years

Estate Gift Options
A will is essential if you wish to make a bequest to benefit the church.  Some options include:

Specific Bequest
 — determining a specific amount of money or a specific asset to leave to the church.

Percentage Bequest — giving a pre-determined percentage of your estate to the church.

Residual Bequest — the church receives the remainder of the estate after other defined gifts, taxes, and expenses have been paid.

Contingent Bequest — if your named beneficiaries do not survive you, then the assets are, instead, given to the church.

Questions?  Contact the church office, your accountant or your financial advisor.

But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.   2 Corinthians 8:7

Thank you for giving to the Grace Ministry Fund.
